GALION: Arthur J. Kuns Jr, 84, of Galion passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at home surrounded by his three loving children.
Born March 11, 1941 in Sandusky, he was the son of Arthur and Dorothy Kuns of Castelia. He married Margaret M. Kuns (Green) on August 19, 1961 and they enjoyed 60 years together.
A few days before he passed, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined St. Joseph Catholic Church of Galion.
Art was Division Manager for the O. E. Meyer Co for close to 45 years. He was a member of the Galion Elks and Galion Moose. Art enjoyed being with family and friends, he and Marge took many excursions and especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with family. They spent their winters in Ft. Myers Beach Florida and created many friendships. He and his beloved Marge where both avid Cleveland Browns/Cavs/Indians fans. For over 25 years he was a season ticket holder for The Ohio State University Football team, attending the majority of these games with one of his closest friends and trusted neighbor- Larry Olmutz.
Art is survived by three children, David (Jeanne) Kuns, Scott Kuns and partner Julie Taus and Kara (Tom) Sovacool, all of Galion; eight grandchildren, Meghan (Brent) Tyrrell, Maura (Ian) Hartley , Ryan Kuns and partner Trisha Dean, Lindsey (Alex) Debo, Jordan Kuns and partner Tyler Newman, Garrett Kuns and partner Lexi Augustine, Hannah Sovacool and Nate Sovacool; eleven great- grandchildren, Quinn, Sutton, Paycen, Maddox, Rowan, Wyatt, Cecelia, Nolan, Callan, Raya and Xaiden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by great-granddaughter Rory Tyrrell and sister Nancy Collins.
A celebration of life for Art and Marge will be held at a later date.
