Shirley Ann Barker was called home to be with her Lord May 11, 2025 at the age of 86. She was born July 2, 1938 in Dayton, OH to Delbert C. and Geneva M. Davis nee Payne.
Shirley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her love of crocheting and sewing things for her loved ones, eventually led her to start her own business. The Nimble Thimble, a custom bridal and formal wear shop, that also offered alterations and repairs, quickly found Shirley making other custom orders, such as leather coats and drapes. In addition to sewing, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, as well as reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Geneva, brother, Kelly Davis, sister, Mary “Suzy” Jenkins, one grandson Stanley Pope, 3 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Clifford Barker. Children, Michael (Mary Gerard) Pope, Mark Pope, Marjorie (Anthony) Barclay, Robert Pope, Michelle (Harold) Thomas, and Honorary Daughter Marshan Correia. Siblings, Delbert (Victoria) Davis, Patricia Crabtree, and Marjorie (Michael) McLean. Brothers and sisters-in-law Richard (Elaine) Barker, Frank (Rosemary) Barker, Yulan Barker, Kenneth Barker, and Sandra (Richard) Barnett. As well as 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. All of whom will miss her dearly.
