LEXINGTON — The Lexington Elementary PTO was selected as the 2025 North Central Region recipient of the Distinguished Organization for Art Education and has received the 2025 OAEA North Central Region Distinguished Service Award.
The PTO was nominated by Eastern Elementary art teacher Mary Haas. She commended the PTO for consistently supporting the arts and providing critical financial and organizational resources, ensuring that art remains a prominent part of the school’s curriculum.

The 2024-2025 PTO, led by President Tiffany Snyder and Vice President Alleshouse, had a busy year, full of many firsts for the school. Listed below are some of the activities that the teachers, students, and community were able to enjoy:
- Fall festival

The PTO will also be honored as Hometown heroes by Modern Woodmen on May 27th at Eastern Elementary at 6:30.
“We are just a group of moms who want our kids to have awesome memories and want our teachers to feel appreciated,” Eastern building representative Kelly Andress said.
“None of us do this for the accolades or recognition, but of course it feels good to know that our efforts are making an impact! We have been blown away by the positive responses and gratitude from our staff and families!”
What’s next? PTO President Tiffany Snyder said more of the same.
“The goal of PTO is to enrich the educational experience of the students, to support the staff, and to promote a sense of community,” Snyder said.
“Being recognized as we have been reinforces and encourages us to keep planning and engaging in new projects. We are excited to keep doing exactly what we have been doing all along.”
