BUCYRUS – The Crawford County Council on Aging (COA) is celebrating Older Americans month with a Senior Spring Spectacular May 22 at Trillium Event Center.

Open to ages 60 and older, the event will seat 200 seniors in attendance.

“We are very excited to be celebrating Older Americans Month a little differently this year,” said Executive Director, Cassie Herschler.

“The theme being Flip the Script on Aging aims to transform how society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging. This
event will be a day to celebrate older adults in our area.”

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Attendees will check in, visit resource tables and find a seat.

Free coffee will be provided by Tim Horton’s. Snacks and water will be available, provided by Gentiva Hospice and CenterWell Home Health.

“This is the same great event we typically do for senior day at the fair,” said Activities Coordinator Courtney Moody. “We wanted to move the event to celebrate Older Americans Month but also for the accessibility of the location and milder weather of May
versus the heat of July.”

There will be a hat contest, so attendees are encouraged to wear their best spring hat.

A fun feature of this event is that seniors will have a chance to be a contestant at the COA’s Price is Right, sponsored by Trustwell Living at Carlisle Place, or Crawford County Jeopardy, sponsored and hosted by the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce.

A free lunch will be provided by Unger Park Post Acute SNF served at noon. Following lunch, In a Jam Band will take the stage. Entertainment sponsored by Devoted Health.

“We could not host such a fun event without the community’s support. I’d like to also recognize Park National Bank and Eliminator’s Car Club for donating to our event,” Moody said.

This event is free for seniors, but tickets are required. Ticket reservation begins May 5.
