Hal Russell Harmon, Sr., 86, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Hal was born on July 1, 1938, to late parents Claire and Dorothy (Peet) Harmon in Bradford, PA.
Hal was a proud Bradford Area High School Class of 1956 graduate. Hal went on to serve our country honorably in the United States Air Force. After returning home, he dedicated himself to his work as a knife finisher, polisher, and manufacturer at Case Cutlery, where he poured his heart into his craft until retiring in 2000. His artisanal skill and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike.
Hal was much more than his career; he was a true outdoorsman, finding joy in the serenity of nature. He loved to hunt and spent countless hours exploring the woods, always with the thrill of the chase guiding him. In his younger years, Hal also enjoyed bowling, often sharing laughter and good times with friends and family at the lanes.
Family was at the core of Hal’s being. He was a loving husband to wife, Dorothy Kristy, and a devoted father to his son, Mark (Sandy) Harmon, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. Hal was also a proud grandfather to his grandson, Mark Harmon, each moment spent together was a testament to the love and legacy he created.
In addition to Hal’s parents, he is preceded in death by: wife and mother of his children Eleanor (Overrein) Harmon, son, Hal “Russ” Harmon, Jr., sister, Gwen Hannon, brothers, John Harmon, and Mike Harmon.
