BELLVILLE — A man was stabbed and another injured Wednesday in the village, according to a press release by police Chief Jon Fletcher.
Bellville police were dispatched to a home in the area of Main Street and Durbin Avenue “reference a male subject with stab wounds,” the release said.
The press release didn’t say what time police were called.
“Officers arrived on scene, along with Jefferson Township EMS and treatment of subject was started,” Fletcher wrote in the release.
“During this time, (police were) notified of a second subject with injuries located in the area of Mill Street and Main Street,” the chief said, adding a second officer was sent to Mill Street.
The press release didn’t describe the nature of the second person’s injuries.
Fletcher said both people were taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
The chief said his department and the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident.
