Elizabeth H. Hipp, 86 of Ashland passed away early Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025 in Brookwood Place at Brethren Care Village with her daughters at her side.
She was born on November 6, 1938 in Ashland the daughter of the late Robert Milton and Harriet (nee Christie) Heichel.
Liz has called Ashland her home all her life. Her family owned and operated Union Hardware store for many years.
Liz graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1956.
She retired in 2004 after more than 30 years from the Hess & Clark Company where she was a purchasing agent.
Liz was a devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she remained very active in the altar guild and finance committee to name just a few. Liz always enjoyed serving on her class reunion committee with her classmates. Liz served as the treasurer for the Oakbrook Condo Association for many years and spent many years on the DR Services board. Liz enjoyed vacations at the beach with her family and friends, being outside, taking walks, and soaking up the sun. Playing bridge was always a favorite too!
She is survived by three loving daughters, Christy (Steven) Bachmann of Ashland, Lori (Dan) Smith of Ashland, and Amy (Sean) Myers of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jaime Bachmann of Ashland, Kellie (David) Harris of Ashland, Jennifer (Josh) Chapman of Ashland, Ryan (Kayla) Smith of Ashland, Rowan Myers of Dallas Texas, and Reese Myers of Dallas, Texas; eight great grandchildren, Ailah and Owen Harris, Olivia Bachmann, Alice Harris, Mason and Luke Chapman, and Landon and Liam Smith; and one brother, Robert Milton Heichel Jr. of Cincinnati.
In addition to her parents, Liz is preceded in death by one grandson, Brock Bachmann who passed from this life in 2016.
A Celebration of Liz’s life will be on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Riesen presiding. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the time of the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
