Kenneth W. Icenhour, 90 of Ashland passed away on Friday afternoon, April 4, 2025 in Lutheran Village with his family at his side.

He was born on September 3, 1934 in Norton, Virginia the son of the late Jonah D. and Ivalee (nee Morefield) Icenhour.

Ken married the love of his life the former, Nancy A. Sweet on July 2, 1954.

He retired after more than 38 years from U-Brand where he was a supervisor and formerly a machinist. While working there, he served as President of local union #1556. He was also employed at Merillat Industries in Loudonville for more than 10 years and worked part time at Harold Motors for more than 17 years.

Ken was a devoted man of God, a loving husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and caregiver. He was a member of Park Street Brethren Church, where he served as head usher and was in the Berean Sunday School Class and attended Savannah United Methodist Church. In his earlier years, he attended Garber Brethren Church where he proudly served as Sunday school superintendent. Outside of church, he was a member of the Ashland Evening Lions Club and Ashland County Senior Citizens for many years. He enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, driving in demolition derbies, purchasing items at auctions and attending both the Ashland County and New London fairs. Ken never missed an event that both his children and grandchildren participated in; and enjoyed playing Santa Clause over the years for family, friends, and at church. In his later years, he loved singing with the Golden Serenaders and sang at Brethren Care Village with the Voice of Joy, a quartet to the residents, all the while he was volunteering.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth Jeffrey (Darlene) Icenhour of Ashland, Mark William (Roxanne) Icenhour of Ashland, LeAnne Christine (Bob) Bauerdick of Mansfield, Amy Susanne (Neal) Clark of Ashland and Joel David (Susan) Icenhour of Ashland; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one expected great grandchild; and five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Balsizer of Ashland; and one brother, Roy Eugene (Polly) Icenhour of Jeromesville.

In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Nancy Icenhour who passed from this life on July 2, 2014 on the hour of their 60th wedding anniversary; two close friends, Mrs. Betty Cypher and Mrs. Betty McQuate; four brothers, Buford, Luther, George, and Jim Icenhour; and five sisters, Wilma Jean Icenhour, Myrtle Eller, Nanny Phillips, Helen Powers, and Mary Fay Townsley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend John Bouquet and Reverend Eric Abel presiding. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery. A meal and time of fellowship will follow in the Legacy Room at the funeral home. Friends and family may visit on Thursday evening, April 10, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
