Beth L. (Them/Elliott) Showalter of Mansfield, Ohio, went to heaven to be with Jesus Christ after her battle with cancer on Friday March 28, 2025. Strong, loving, generous, quick-witted and candid, she maintained an open house policy for the kids in the neighborhood and made sure that no one in proximity of her home would go hungry. She never met a stranger and made people feel loved and valued. She had an undeniable maternal spirit, earning her the nickname of “Ma.” She loved to cook, especially for others, and animals and children had a special place in her heart. She was especially passionate about serving and helping those less fortunate. Most of all, she was dedicated to her family.
She leaves behind three children: Lisa (Mike) Elliott, Christopher Elliott, Jackie (Tiffany) Elliott. She was dedicated to her “grandbabies”: Donovin, Ashtin and Raylee Carmichael as well as many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her long-time roommate and “sister,” Joy Fagan, sister, Lisa Them and brothers, Carl and Steve Them.
She was pre-deceased by the father of her children, Marvin Elliott, Baby Elliott and brother Dean Them. Beth gave her life to Jesus Christ and embraced His forgiveness and is now free and whole in her forever home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in her memory at Community Bible Church in Mansfield, OH at 1043 Springmill St. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Joy Fagan will be conducting services. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
Flowers are welcomed, but in lieu of flowers, donations can also be made to Her Story, Inc (Safe Harbor House) or to Second Harvest Food Bank, both of Springfield, Ohio.
