Toby Rogers was named MVP of The 46th News Journal All-Star Classic Friday night.

LEXINGTON — Highland’s Toby Rogers was a star among the stars at Friday night’s 46th annual News Journal All-Star Classic.

The Scots’ standout poured in a whopping 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to garner MVP honors at the boys basketball clash. Rogers led five teammates in twin figures as the North rolled to a 150-114 pounding of the South at Lexington High School.

Mapleton’s Scott Hickey collected 24 points, Mansfield Senior’s Kyevi Roane had 21 points and 12 rebounds, Hillsdale’s Brady Krichbaum netted 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Mansfield Christian’s Taylor Hahn had 13 points and seven rebounds, Weston Prenger knocked in 10 points, and Ashland’s Tyler Sauder added eight points and 11 rebounds.

Crestview’s Justice Thompson paced the South with 25 points and 11 rebounds. St. Peter’s product Dmoni Lentes had 14 points, while Madison’s Owen Wigton and Loudonville’s Dilan Wade scored 10 points apiece.
