Edna Louise Houser, 89 of Ashland passed away early Friday morning, March 21, 2025 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
She was born on February 22, 1936 in Ashland County the daughter of the late Harry and Aline (nee McCormick) Keiffer.
Louise attended school in Hayesville.
She married the love of her life, R. Herbert Houser on July 27, 1957 in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Mifflin, Ohio by Reverend Donald Safford.
Louise was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Ashland Church of the Nazarene and had been attending Calvary Baptist Church. She was an avid flower gardener who enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, but most of all loved going shopping.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Mr. R. Herbert Houser of Ashland; two sons, Wayne (Tamara) Houser and Mark (Mary) Houser, both of Ashland; 11 grandchildren, Clint (Jacqueline) Houser, Calvin (Mindy) Houser, Chad (Jada) Houser, Esther (Zach) Fires, Carl (Charmaine) Houser, Eleanor Houser, Clair (Jasmin) Houser, Clark Houser, Matthew (Sally) Houser, Hannah (Charlie) Davis, and Marissa (Darrik) Yetzer; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dee Johnson and Laura Laug; two brothers, Robert Keiffer and Ed Keiffer; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Keiffer.
In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by one sister, Bette (Richard) Himes; three brothers, Richard, Carl, and David (Phyllis) Keiffer; two brothers-in-law, Gary Johnson and Charles Laug; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Keiffer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Calvin Houser and Reverend Austin Rissler presiding. Interment will follow in the Savannah Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 210 Davis Road, Ashland, Ohio, 44805.
