ONTARIO — The Ontario Police Department is reminding businesses and citizens not to share credit card information with scammers.
The department received scam reports that someone was calling business owners and citizens claiming to be Officer Becker calling to collect fine payments and threatening jail time if they don’t respond immediately.
The police department does not call people to collect fines over the phone, nor does it employ an Officer Becker.
