Virginia Pearl Fisher, 97, of Ontario, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on November 30, 1927, to the late Miller and Eva (Brown) Russell. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1946. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, and unwavering faith.
Virginia was married three times, first to Jack Gruver, then to Henry Wilson, and later to Floyd Fisher; all three preceded her in death. Despite these losses, she remained strong, embracing life with warmth and a generous spirit.
She dedicated many years of service working for Leeway Motor Freight and Pepsi Co. Outside of her professional life, Virginia was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of Journey Life Center in Mansfield. She cherished her church family and found great joy in attending Sunday school, where her faith flourished. Virginia was also a woman of strong community connections, building relationships through the VFW Post 9943 of Mansfield, Golden Agers of Crestline, where she served as President for over 3 years, and a member Positive Christian Singles of Galion.
Virginia had a deep love for traveling, whether it was trips to the lake house at Lake Erie or the treasured 2016 family cruise—memories she held close to her heart. She found serenity in fishing and searching for seashells, always marveling at the beauty of nature.
A collector of angels, Virginia surrounded herself with reminders of faith, love, and protection. She was known for always having her nails perfectly painted and for her love of jewelry, adding a sparkle to her warm spirit. Virginia also had a competitive side, enjoying a good card game with her friends and family.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons: Martin Gruver of Ontario, Ronald Wilson of Nicholson, GA., and Michael (Cathy) Wilson of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, and loving husbands, Virginia was preceded in death by her siblings: James Russell, Charles Russell, Garnet Williams, Ruby Petty, Francis Hilson, and Mary Rupe.
