Herbert H. Furr, age 86, of Galion passed away Wednesday March 12, 2025 at JAG Healthcare in Galion.
Born April 2, 1938 in Shelby, he was the son of the late James and Cora (Carpenter) Furr. He married Catherine “Kate” Wagner on June 13, 1953 and she survives.
Herb was a member of ARK Church in Galion. He had worked at US Steel Grave Vault and AM Castle Metals in Galion as well as having owned the Pure Oil Station here. He retired from Benjamin Steel. He was a hard worker and was known to be an electrician, welder, block layer, house builder and farmer. He enjoyed hunting, Nascar and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his wife Kate, he is survived by his children: Mike (Shirley) Furr, Jeff (Stephamie) Furr, Theresa Furr and Dwayne (Dinora) Furr, 14 grandchildren: Shawn (Dani) Furr, Matt (Nikki) Furr, Cody (Stephanie) Furr, Bianca Furr, Monique (Jessie) Delaney, Amber Furr, Chantal Furr, Skylar Furr, Lucas (Mandy) Maynard, Brandi Maynard, Andrew (Leslie) Furr, Arron Furr, Stephanie Furr and Shandraya Furr, 18 great-grandchilden and two brothers: Richard and Fred Furr.
In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by two sons: Gary and Rodney Furr, and siblings: Jim Furr, Edna Zeigler, Lloyd Furr, Jerry Shaw and Wilbert Furr.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM Monday March 17, 2025 at ARK Church, 200 Gelsanliter Rd. Galion, Ohio 44833
