SHELBY — Last Summer Marvin Memorial Library was one of 300 libraries selected by the American Library Association and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation to receive a Thinking Money for Kids Program Kit.
Along with Play-Away Launchpad tablets, which are currently available for checkout, the library received physical game boards.
Each month the library choose one of the five games to play during Family Game Night. After the game nights, the physical game boards will be available for checkout.
The first Family Game Night is Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m. Currency Conga will be the game scheduled for that night.
Parents are encouraged to bring the kids to play a money-themed twister game.
At the flick of a spinner, players compete for space on a vinyl mat as they attempt to touch the correct coins and bills.
This game improves currency recognition and money math skills in kids ages 8 to 12.
