MANSFIELD: Donald C. Wodolan, 84, of Mansfield, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at Crystal Care Center in Ashland after a long illness.
He was born June 15, 1940, in Detroit and is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Tim) Gleason of Butler, his adopted family, Dawn and Dan Moeglin, and his three “grandchildren,” Joseph, Anna, and Catherine, all of Canton, and his best friend, Dr. Steve Phillips.
Don was born in Detroit, Michigan, and became a Private in the United States Army in 1962, where he served as a Boatswain in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After marrying Carol Ann (Garrison) on September 6, 1964, they moved to Mansfield, Ohio, where he started working as a Tappan welder. After retiring in 1992, when the plant closed,
Don spent much of his time at home, where he enjoyed his beloved pets, working in his yard, vacations in Ocean City, Maryland, and babysitting his “grandkids.”
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, and their son, Christopher; his parents, Gladys and Clarence Wodolan; and his sister, Leonora White.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 pm on Monday, March 10th at Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield. A prayer service will follow at 2pm, followed by military honors on the grounds of the funeral home. The inurnment will be private at Mansfield Cemetery.
