Kimberly L. Claytor, age 60, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, following a brief illness

Born August 5, 1964, in Killeen, Texas to Irene (Dillon) Appleby, she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. A 1982 graduate of Shelby High School, Kim worked as a cashier before being employed at Tyco Electronics in Mansfield. She had also worked for the Shelby City Schools in the cafeteria for numerous years.

Kim’s number one priority in life was family. She loved vacationing and always looked forward to the family’s annual trips to St. Augustine Beach in Florida. She spent countless hours traveling across the United States, sitting on the side lines cheering her daughter Amber on in softball. Some of her happiest and most precious moments were when she spent time with her person, her granddaughter, Chloe. Chloe was one of her greatest joy’s in life- she absolutely adored her. Always ready to crack a joke, Kim had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. To know her was to love her – unless you were playing her in a game of UNO, in which she was an absolute savage.

She is survived by her husband Randi Claytor, whom she wed June 14, 2008; mother, Irene (Larry) Appleby of Bucyrus; her daughter, Amber Hensley-Rew of Shelby; two step-children, Cassie (Drew) Harwood of Elizabeth City, NC and Nicholas (Fiancé Caitlin Jordan) Claytor of Shelby; five grandchildren, Chloe Rew, Max Claytor, Tripp Harwood, Jett Harwood, and Cooper Claytor; siblings, Jason (Krista) Slone of Savannah, GA, Cretia (Aaron) Johnson of Upper Sandusky, Jeri (Mike) Zeigler of Bucyrus, Doug (Shanelle) Appleby of Bucyrus, and Jon Appleby of Bucyrus, Todd Armstrong of Mansfield & Brent (Heather) Armstrong of Shelby; a special aunt, Loretta (aunt Redda) Wallace of Shiloh; two special nephews and a special niece, Andrew and Nicholas Slone and June Petrosino-Barber; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends who will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandma Schiffer, great-grandma Bowman; her mother-in-law, Betty Claytor; and ex-husband and best friend, Ed Hensley.
