The Sunday Songwriter Series is celebrating its second anniversary with Abe Partridge on March 2. Lexi Shroll and Emily Raff will take the stage April 27 and Matt Rogers will perform June 8. All performances are in the Phoenix Spirit Room.

MANSFIELD — Abe Partridge has been busy since he was last in Mansfield.

The Alabama singer-songwriter, visual artist and documentarian opened a tour for Matthew Sweet, completed an international tour and continued his Alabama Astronaut podcast all in the last two years.

Partridge is returning to the Sunday Songwriter series March 2 in The Spirit Room at The Phoenix Brewing Company.

Valley Media & Productions, run by Clint Knight, promotes the Sunday Songwriter series, which will celebrate its second anniversary in The Spirit Room next month.

The series showcases singer-songwriters in the intimate 40-seat venue. It has hosted a variety of country, folk and soul artists from across the South and Midwest.

Knight said his mission for the Sunday Songwriter Series is to create a unique experience for songwriters and audience members alike. He credited Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Ga., as the inspiration for the Sunday Songwriter Series in The Spirit Room.

“As a performer myself, I had the opportunity to perform in places where the experience was incredibly special — frequently small rooms, where the audience was attentive, and there was a communication between the stage and the listeners,” he said.

“My inspiration is to ensure that both the performers and the audience members walk away from the event with incredible memories and stories that they wouldn’t otherwise experience elsewhere,” Knight said.

Due to the growing popularity of events, the series often hosts two back-to-back shows with the same artist — one at 3 p.m. and one at 5:30 p.m. Tickets sell quickly due to the size of the room.

There are less than 10 tickets remaining for the 5:30 p.m. show March 2, featuring the songwriter and former preacher Partridge.

Customers can reserve tables or general admission bar seating for the Sunday Songwriter series. Tickets start at $25 for GA or small tables are available for $60. Doors open at 5 p.m. before the evening shows and at 2:30 p.m. before early shows.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Lexi Schroll and Mansfield native Emily Raff will share the stage April 27 at 5:30 p.m. and country musician Matt Rogers is booked for June 8.

All events are upstairs.
