MANSFIELD: Muriel M. Johnson, 83, of Mansfield passed away Thursday morning February 13, 2025 at the Arbors at Mifflin.
Muriel was born in Tacoma, Washington and as a young girl moved to Marion, Ohio where she was raised. Responsible and trustworthy, she was a “mother figure” to her younger siblings.
Muriel had worked as a cashier for Meijer in Ontario and built many lasting friendships.
She preferred the quiet comfort of her home where she would often get lost in a good book. A gifted artist she painted ceramics, and was a great seamstress. Muriel wasn’t afraid to share her thoughts and was conservative in her beliefs.
She is survived by her husband James “Jim” Johnson Sr.; daughter Kristen Johnson Ober (Thomas Ober); grandchildren James “Jamie” Johnson III, Lauren Ober, Jamison Johnson and Liam Johnson; siblings Alan, Dave, Loney and Voney McKee; daughter-in-law Cheri Johnson; nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents Roland and Ethel McKee, she was preceded in death by her son James “Jim” Johnson Jr.
The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to assist the Johnson family with cremation services.
