Delores “Evelyn” Feustel, 80, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Avita Hospital, Galion. Evelyn was born to the late Charles and Bernice (Barr) Robertson in Mt. Vernon on July 15, 1944. She married James M. Feustel, Sr., on November 4, 1962, and he preceded her in death.

Evelyn graduated from the Marengo High School class of 1962, the last class that graduated there.

Evelyn was a tireless homemaker, dedicating herself to creating a warm and welcoming environment for her family. Her nurturing nature was complemented by an undeniable toughness that guided her in life. Known for her beautiful flower beds, people would often come from near and far to admire the vibrant colors she cultivated with care. Her love for flowers mirrored her love for people—deep, beautiful, and generous.

A true sports enthusiast, Evelyn had a passion for Ohio State football, the Browns, Bengals, and Steelers, as well as NASCAR, basketball, and baseball. If there was a game on, you could bet she was there rooting for her teams with unwavering loyalty.

Evelyn possessed a youthful spirit that radiated kindness and innocence, endearing her to everyone she met. She also had a daring side; she learned to ride a Harley and a Cushman Scooter that she rode alongside her beloved husband, Jim, who was her partner through every adventure. Together, they set an incredible example of love and marriage, embodying partnership, respect, and humor.

A spiritual anchor in her community, Evelyn was deeply involved in her church at Magnolia Terrace, the assisted living facility, where she shared her faith and compassion with others. Known for her charitable spirit, she made a lasting impact on those around her, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Evelyn is survived by children, Marlene (Steve) Vance, of Elizabethton, TN, James (Barbara) Feustel, Jr., of Mansfield, Rebecca (Bill) Willis, of Galion; grandchildren, Philip (Stephanie Clough) Shipman; Sarah (Jessy Walker) Shipman; Cass Vance; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Clough; Grant Clough; Aurora Clough; Merida Clough; Mya Walker; Mazie Walker; siblings, Harold Robertson, of Mt. Vernon; Shirley Mabe, of Stonesville, NC; and Ralph (Sharon) Robertson, of Mt. Vernon.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Robertson, Jesse Robertson, Beverly Blubaugh, Richard Pound, infant sister, Marlene Robertson, and her son-in-law, Scott Shipman.

Friends may call on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00 am at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion. Burial will take place at Ebenezer Cemetery, Galion.
