Allen N. Santamont, age 77, of Mansfield Ohio passed away on February 1, 2025 at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio following a long illness. On September 16, 1947 he was born in Massina, New York, the son of the late William and Dorothy Santamont. On June 1, 1996 he married Drema Rice at the Grace Baptist Church in Crestline, Ohio and together they shared 26 years of marriage.
Allen enjoyed ham radios, shooting and fishing. Allen was a great bass guitarist. He played with bands in his hometown of Messina New York as a teenager and in Chicago while in college. He also played in several bands in Mansfield, Ohio. Allen and his wife Drema also played gospel music together in several churches in the Mansfield area. He had worked at United Telephone and PECO II. Allen was a very strong and intelligent man. He was loving and caring with a heart bigger than Texas. He loved the Lord and his family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Drema Santamont; daughters, Margret (Bradley) Strong, Noelle Saniford and Holly Smith; sister, Madeline Bennett; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Santamont and brothers, Roger and Billy Santamont.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wong and nurses at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and Dr. Burwell and his staff in Mansfield, Ohio and Darrell Hall, a close family friend.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2025 at 2:00PM at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 9 Chambers Rd. Mansfield, Ohio 44906. Keith Stamper will officiate and family and friends may call from 1:00PM-2:00PM.
