Melissa Dallas

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Melissa Dallas, a beloved daughter, mother, stepmother, and grandmother, who left us suddenly. She was the daughter of the late Judith Tucker and is survived by her father, Gordon Dallas, and her stepmother, Jody Dallas.
Melissa is also survived by two brothers, Jonathan Dallas and Jeffrey Dallas. Also surviving, two stepbrothers, Bill Emery and Bob Emery; and a stepsister, Susan Emery. In addition to her mother, Melissa is preceded in death by a stepsister, Beth Emery.
Melissa Riegel Dallas was born July 13, 1961, passed from us on January 15, 2025 at her home in Springfield, Missouri.
Melissa was a proud mother to her daughter, Gabrielle Riegel and a devoted stepmother to David and Sarah Riegel. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Carter, Emma, Allison, and Ashley Riegel.
A distinguished educator, Melissa served as the department head at Missouri State University, where she inspired and mentored countless students. She held an MBA, a JD, and a PhD, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and her passion for education. Her generosity and selflessness were evident in all aspects of her life, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own.
She was an Ashland County Fair Queen, Ashland High School and Bowling Green University graduate. She later earned her law degree from Toledo University.
Melissa had a profound love for music, a passion she shared with her mother, which brought joy to her life and those around her. Her laughter and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
