Lori Bongiorno, age 61, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born on January 21, 1964, in Bryan, Ohio, to Parker and Elsie (Russell) Fortner.
Lori had a deep love for her church, Mission Point Church, where she was a dedicated member since 2018. Singing at church was one of her greatest joys, and she found peace and purpose in sharing her voice. Lori’s love for the Bible was profound, and she spent much of her time studying and deciphering its teachings.
An amazing seamstress, Lori was known for her quilting and craftsmanship, creating beautiful works with patience and precision. She held an associate’s degree and was a very intelligent and thoughtful woman, admired by many for her beauty, both inside and out. Though introverted by nature, Lori’s warm heart and determination to speak out when needed made her a beloved presence in every room she entered.
Lori was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She was a loving wife, and her children were the center of her world. Lori was also a mother figure to so many others, always offering love, guidance, and support. Her strength, determination, and kindness are reflected in her children, who carry on the values she instilled in them.
Lori is survived by her husband, Tim Bongiorno; her children, Mandi (Adam) Bongiorno-Randell and Chelsea (Mark) Trent; grandchildren, Ethan Koch and Clark Randell, mother, Elsie Fortner; her sister, Leslie (Ron) Boutell; nephews, Andrew (Heidi) Boutell and Paul Bongiorno; nieces, Sarah (Kevin) Baniak, Chrystal Bongiorno, Devyn Weber, Danielle McClay, and Emily McClay; sister-in-law, Tina McClay; and brother-in-law, Paul David Bongiorno. She was preceded in death by her father, Parker Fortner, and her brother, David Fortner.
A visitation to celebrate Lori’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mission Point Church, 54 E Cook Rd, Mansfield, with a funeral service to follow, officiated by Pastor Dan Zediker.
