MANSFIELD — Source Media Properties, an independent local news organization serving North Central Ohio, today announced four promotions within its newsroom.
Carl Hunnell, a seasoned journalist with deep roots in the community, has been promoted to Deputy Managing Editor. Hunnell will serve as the right hand to the Managing Editor, ensuring the smooth daily operations of the newsroom.
Dillon Carr and Cheryl Splain have both been elevated to Lead Reporter positions for the Ashland Source and Knox Pages, respectively. In their new roles, Carr and Splain will assume a number of site management responsibilities. They will provide guidance for their respective reporting teams, while continuing to produce high-quality, impactful journalism.
Katie Ellington-Serrao has been named Lead Reporter for the Richland Source and will also take on the supplemental role of Solutions Journalism Coordinator. Serrao will spearhead solutions-oriented reporting projects, mentor reporters in solutions journalism best practices, and ensure the newsroom maintains high standards for this type of coverage.
