LEXINGTON — Childhood friends Nathan Miller and Joshua Reel are now business partners.

Both chiropractors, Reel joined Miller’s practice at East Main Chiropractic this January. He worked at Darr Family Chiropractic in Bellville for the past four years.

“Nate opened solo about three years ago, and I just joined the practice,” Reel said.

Miller and Reel, both Bellville natives, treat patients of all ages, including adjustments for prenatal care. They each received doctorate degrees from Life University.

“I had sports injuries when I was younger and saw a chiropractor who encouraged me to check out a college program,” Miller said. “I really enjoyed the practice and the aspect of offering regular check-ups that can positively impact people’s lives.”

Miller founded East Main Chiropractic at 37 E. Main St. in Lexington in February 2022. The clinic offers chiropractic adjustments, X-rays, and discounts for monthly memberships and family plans

East Main Chiropractic also offers nutritional testing and supplements for acute and chronic conditions. The clinic provides itemized bills patients can submit to their insurance or health savings accounts.

“Goals-wise, I’d like to expand into an all-inclusive health clinic and offer decompression and different types of therapies in the future,” Miller said. “Decompression in particular is really helpful for acute lower back injuries, so that’s the first thing I’d like to add.”

Decompression is a type of treatment that alleviates pressure on the spine’s vertebrae and discs, while spinal adjustments usually target a specific joint to enhance spinal alignment.

Massage therapist Marilu Holmes also operates on the second floor of East Main Chiropractic.

“She’s independent, but we’ve each referred people to the other,” Miller said.

Reel said working for an office that only accepts self-pay clients helps the doctors develop a “tailored care plan” for each patient.

“The way chiropractic care used to be done, insurance would dictate what your care was or what you were allowed to do for a patient,” Reel said. “By not taking insurance, you remove that barrier and you can give people a tailored care plan.”

East Main Chiropractic can be reached at 419-566-7072 and info@eastmainchiropractic.com. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m to noon and 3 to 6 p.m. Holmes is open for massage appointments on Fridays.

The office is also online at eastmainchiropractic.com and on Facebook.
