COLUMBUS — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced that Sunday, Jan/ 26, 2025, will be recognized as THE Celebration of Champions Day. 

In the past week, The Ohio State University celebrated three national championships.

On Friday, Jan. 17, The Ohio State University’s spirit team – comprised of cheer, dance, and Brutus – was named the Division 1A national champions for the second consecutive year.

On Sunday, Jan. 19, The Ohio State University’s dance team won the Division 1A jazz national championship for the fourth time in the last five years.

On Monday, Jan. 20, The Ohio State University Buckeyes won the first 12-team College Football Playoff by defeating Notre Dame 34-23. 

“Fran and I are incredibly proud of the hard work and determination displayed by The Ohio State University’s spirit team, dance team, and football team in earning a national championship,” said Gov. DeWine. “Go Bucks!”
