Darlene L. (Dorman) Royer Kennedy, age 91 of Galion, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Dublin Methodist Hospital. She was born in Jackson, Missouri, on November 13, 1933, to the late Henry and Edna (Smith) Dorman.

Darlene was a 1951 graduate of Clay City High School in Indiana and attended North Central Technical College. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She moved to Galion with her family in 1974 when her husband Joe Royer retired from the Air Force. They were active members of the United Methodist Church. She married Joe Royer in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She was married to Joe Lee Kennedy and moved to Plymouth, Ohio, in 1994. He preceded her in death in 2016.

In addition to her husbands Joe Royer and Joe Kennedy, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Beth Dorman of Indiana; her brothers Patrick, Jan, Hunter, and Fred Dorman, all of Indiana; her cousin Paul Goza, also of Indiana; her brother-in-law John (Kate) Royer; and her daughter-in-law Vonda Kennedy.

Surviving are her daughters Gayle (Ron) Musilli of Tipp City, Ohio, Shari (Wake) Smoot of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Jodi (Mike) Bridges of Worthington, Ohio; her son Bruce (Kadie Donahoe) Royer of Columbus, Ohio; her stepdaughters Kyle (Walt) Feasel of Bellevue, Ohio, Renee (John) Harris of Willard, Ohio, and Amy (Ryan) Shankel of Kempner, Texas; and her stepson Stephen Kennedy of Opelousa, Louisiana. In addition, she is survived by her adopted stepsons Michael (Arleen) Kennedy of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Steven (Pam) Kennedy of Galion; her brothers James (Phyllis) Dorman of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and Howard (Joyce) Dorman of Indiana; her sister Diane Dorman of Indiana; and her sisters-in-law Ruth Dorman, Mary Inman, and Wanda Dorman, all of Indiana.

She was also the proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Covenant Global Methodist Church, 130 E. Walnut Street, Galion, OH, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
