Eric Guy Wood passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2025, at the age of 49 in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on June 6, 1975, Eric was a devoted husband, stepfather, brother, and friend who was known for his kind heart and warm spirit.

He resided in Sandy Springs, Georgia, with his husband, Lawrence Sullivan, and his stepdaughter, Lauren Kirkland. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his warm presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Eric was the son of Linda Lee Wood and Howard Lee Wood, and was the cherished brother to Ryan Wood, Laura Barnhill, Leslie Gunter, Marc Wood, and Matthew Wood. He had a special bond with each of his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families, and his loss is felt profoundly by them all. He loved music and his dogs.

Professionally, Eric earned an Engineering degree from the Ohio State University and an MBA from Lake Forest with a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt focus. Eric worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where he dedicated himself to improving the lives of others. His work in healthcare was a reflection of his caring nature and commitment to making the world a better place. Eric’s compassion extended beyond his professional life—he was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need.

Eric was a varsity wrestler for The Ohio State University and Bucknell University. He was one of the most decorated student athletes in Ashland’s history, excelling as an honor student, football, and a 2 time state qualifier for wrestling.

The Wood family will receive guests on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12-2 pm in the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel. A Celebration of Eric’s life will begin immediately after. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) at www.donate.nami.org in his honor.

Eric’s spirit will continue to live on through his loved ones, and he will forever be remembered as a man who brought joy, love, and kindness to everyone he met. We love you Eric Guy Wood.
