BELLVILLE – The Clear Fork Valley Local School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent.

Applications are due Feb. 13. Employment will begin on Aug. 1.

The incoming superintendent will succeed interim supt. John Thomas, who began his tenure with the district last August.

The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center is assisting Clear Fork, one of its 13 client districts, with its superintendent search at no additional cost.

“The Board is in search of a visible leader who has the ability and willingness to collaborate fairly with faculty, staff, students and families,” a press release from the Mid Ohio Educational Service Center states.

“The successful candidate is expected to have a personal involvement and interest in the community.”

Union co-presidents Ed Kossick and Kourtney Kucirek said the Clear Fork Valley Education Association is glad the board is moving forward with the search.

“We are excited about the future,” they said.

The board of education will meet on Feb. 25 and March 4 at 5:30 p.m. to interview candidates. Those interviews will take place in executive session, but certain staff and community members may be invited to participate in the second round of interviews, according to treasurer Jon Mason.
