SHELBY — Leadership of the Shelby Board of Education is set to remain consistent at the president and vice president positions.
During its first regularly scheduled meeting of 2025, the board re-elected Scott Rose to serve his second consecutive year as president. Kim Nadolsky was chosen to continue her role as vice president.
Rose’s time on the board dates to 2014. During his service, he’s witnessed the immense growth of the district and its campus — including the construction of a new high school, pre-K to 8th grade building and athletic complex.
In December 2023, Shelby City Schools became one of 17 schools in the state to house a Nationwide Children’s Hospital school-based health center.
This past fall, the district was awarded $1,162,109 for manufacturing programming, which will help students earn industry-recognized certifications upon graduation.
“There’s a lot of good things and programs that we have going on,” Rose said Monday. “If you look around our campus and our community, we have a lot of good things.”

Continued growth and future projects
Building on the momentum and accomplishments of the district is something Rose is striving to carry on with this year.

The district’s two biggest projects to tackle include a new roof for the board office building and exploring possibilities for a new bus garage, he said.
Currently located on Walnut Street near downtown Shelby, the district’s current bus garage is about 70 years old.
Rose said a new bus garage would be “the last piece to the puzzle.”
“You’ve heard me say it before, that every day is a great day to be a Whippet,” he said Monday evening. “I really honestly feel that.
“I’m very passionate about this community. I love this community and love the people in it. We have a lot of good people and a very supportive community.
“We want to just keep on building on that and continuing that for 2025.”
All board members were acknowledged during Monday’s meeting as part of the Ohio School Boards Association’s School Board Recognition Month.
