MANSFIELD — January is Sanctity of Human Life Month.
This year on Sunday, Jan. 19, and every year since President Ronald Reagan proclaimed Sanctity of Human Life Sunday in 1984, the day is set aside to focus on the value of every human life.
Locally, beginning at 2 p.m., Jan. 19, the annual Mansfield & North Central Ohio March and Rally for Life will be held in downtown Mansfield.
“We will be remembering the disastrous (for the unborn) Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision 52 years ago (Jan. 22, 1973), which was finally overturned in the summer of 2022,” organizers stated. “However, an even greater setback occurred for unborn Ohio human beings in November of 2023 (Issue 1.)
“That is when many Ohio voters were convinced by major out-of-state funding sources and intense media propaganda to vote ‘yes’ to place in the Ohio Constitution the so-called ‘right to abortion.’ “
The march will start at the corner of Mulberry Street and Park Avenue West at 2 p.m. and end at Central Park, where there will be a brief rally.
The guest speaker will be Pastor Paul Lintern. The event will be held rain or snow.
