Nancy Jean Thacker, 84, formerly of Crestline, passed away on January 10, 2025, at Westerville Post Acute. She was born on December 18, 1940, in Mansfield to the late Robert and Olive (Skidmore) Callahan.

On October 20, 1978, Nancy married Robert Thacker, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2004.

Known by her coworkers as “Captain B” during her career as an office administrator, Nancy ran a tight ship and would have no issue with correcting mistakes. She was a true protector and motherly figure to everyone she met. Her nurturing nature and unyielding loyalty earned her the love and respect of all who knew her. She was always there for her family and friends, offering support and care in abundance.

Nancy had a special bond with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She loved spending time with them and creating cherished memories. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting, hobbies that brought her much joy and allowed her to create beautiful keepsakes for her family.

Left to cherish Nancy’s memories are her children: April (David) Quast of Westerville, and Bill Thacker of Marengo; siblings: Judy (Paul) Wilson of Michigan, Charles (Carol) Scott of Galion, John Scott of South Carolina, Mary (Jim) Krull of Florida, and George Scott of Florida; 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren: and many dear friends, who will miss her greatly.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved children: Lydia King and Todd King; siblings: Ronald Callahan, and Gayle Callahan.

Nancy will be laid to rest with her loving husband Robert at Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date.
