MANSFIELD – The NAACP #3190 invites the community to attend an open meeting to meet its newly elected president, Alomar Davenport, and discuss plans for the future of the organization.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. at the NECIC Community Center, 486 Springmill St., Mansfield.

This open meeting provides an opportunity for all interested citizens to come together and engage with others who are dedicated to promoting equality and improving the lives of everyone in Richland County. As Davenport begins his leadership of the local chapter, he is committed to fostering a united community.

“Racial inequality is not a Black problem, it’s an American problem,” Davenport said. “We need everyone to come together to promote justice, fairness, and a better way of life for all.”

The NAACP #3190 encourages individuals to make supporting the organization a part of their New Year’s resolution and to take action toward building a more just world for everyone.
