MANSFIELD — Adena Corporation announced today that it has finalized the acquisition of well-known Washington, D.C. metropolitan area Palmer’s Contracting Group (PCG).
The acquisition is a strategic move to strengthen Adena’s reach in new markets and expand its service offerings. Adena is a leader in construction management and general contracting with over four decades of experience.
“This acquisition represents a significant milestone for Adena Corporation, enhancing our capabilities and strengthening our service offerings both geographically and in the security sector,” said Ryan Payne, construction operations manager of Adena Corporation.
“Palmer’s Contracting Group shares our values of integrity and innovation, and this partnership will enhance our ability to deliver exceptional craftsmanship and services to an even broader client base.”

Adena Corporation operates across multiple regions, specializing in managing diverse projects in industries such as healthcare, education, industrial manufacturing, amusement and more.
By acquiring Palmer’s Contracting Group, a company known for its experience specializing in designing, building and consulting for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Tenant construction, Adena aims to expand their service offerings in the government and military spaces, while reinforcing its commitment to quality and safety.
Acquisition to expand Adena’s services, customer base
PCG will retain its name but become “Palmer’s Contracting Group, an Adena Construction Company.” PCG’s leadership and operations will remain in place, and additional support and reporting will roll up to Adena.
“Palmer’s Contracting Group is thrilled to join forces with Adena Corporation, a family-owned business that shares our core values and commitment to people,” said Scott Palmer, executive vice president of Palmer’s Contracting Group.
“PCG is excited to bring our expertise and passion to expanded markets by merging into Adena’s office locations in Ohio, Florida and Colorado. This expansion creates opportunities for growth while staying true to what makes PCG unique.
“Combining Adena’s base-building experience with PCG’s specialty experience provides a unique opportunity for new project endeavors and specialty services.”
This acquisition will impact operations across all of Adena’s locations, with the intent to utilize Adena’s range of locations to extend PCG’s services into those markets for existing and potential clients.
Adena will be able to provide specialized SCIF construction services in all Ohio, Florida and Colorado locations, combining PCG’s reliable reputation and specialized service offering in the security sector with its own ability to deliver quality large-scale, new-build projects.
The acquisition may also increase the need for future workforce hiring.
The integration of PCG into Adena’s operations will enable the company to extend its geographic footprint and expand its service capabilities, including self-performed trades such as steel, masonry, concrete and carpentry.
With the addition of SCIF services, Adena will expand its core capabilities into the government, military and Department of Defense sectors. With shared priorities around safety, employee development and community engagement, leadership said the two companies are poised for a seamless transition.
Adena Corporation and Palmer’s Contracting Group have long-standing reputations for maintaining strong client relationships and achieving a high rate of repeat business, thanks to their focus on individualized service and a collaborative approach. The acquisition aligns with Adena’s mission to evolve and innovate while upholding its legacy of quality and reliability.
