MANSFIELD — MANSFIELD — The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Board of Governors convened on Wednesday, Dec. 18 to honor two esteemed members of the MOESC family, Steve and Lorraine Ernest, as they attended their final board meeting.

Both are set to retire at the end of December, marking the conclusion of their remarkable tenures at MOESC.

Steve Ernest will conclude his impactful career at MOESC after serving two separate tenures that collectively span a decade while Lorraine Ernest will retire after 21.5 years of dedicated service.

The Board of Governors acknowledged their unwavering commitment and significant contributions to MOESC.

Board President Doug Theaker expressed his gratitude to the pair.

“In my 50-plus years as a Board member, I have had the opportunity to work with many good employees,” Theaker said. “Certainly, at the top of my list are Steve and Lorraine Ernest. They are good people, and they have performed excellently.

“They will be sorely missed, but the time comes in one’s career when the end is here. I wish them the best. Godspeed and I love them both.”

Superintendent Kevin Kimmel also conveyed his appreciation, too.

“Steve and Lorraine have made a big impact on my professional career, and Mid-Ohio ESC would not be the strong organization that it is today without them,” Kimmel said. “Their many years of service and dedication to MOESC will never be forgotten, and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

Treasurer/CFO Brenda Miller echoed those sentiments.

“Steve and Lorraine’s dedication and exemplary character have left a lasting impression on everyone they have worked with, inspiring those around them to continue to grow and succeed,” Miller said.

“Their presence will be deeply missed, but their contributions will continue to guide and empower Mid-Ohio ESC for years to come.”

As Steve and Lorraine Ernest prepare to embark on new chapters in their lives, MOESC extends heartfelt thanks and best wishes for their future endeavors.

Their legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire excellence and dedication within the Mid-Ohio ESC community.
