Robert William Stewart, Jr. passed away on December 19, 2024, at his residence. He was born on July 1, 1934, in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Robert Stewart Sr. and Geraldine (Guthrie) Stewart.
He was a loving, caring and good person and was always willing to help. His love of animals was shown when he owned and operated a dairy farm. Robert deeply loved his granddaughter.
When he lived in Indiana he worked in a furniture store, he also worked for Decker Transport for many years, driving from Willard. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Robert is survived by his wife Loni; stepson, who was like a son, Neil (Cassie) Adams; granddaughter Cherokee; step-granddaughter, Lexie, step-grandson, Steffen, step-grandson Michael; sister-in-laws Linda Stewart, Sandra (Les) Fulk, Marie (Tim) Kiser, Brenda Wetzel; brother-in-laws, Jesse (Myra) Stephens, Carter (Linda) Stephens, Louis Stephens; ex-daughter-in-law Heidi Post, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard “Dick” Stewart; sister Joan Stewart; in-laws, Gobel (Leora) Stephens; nephew, Larry Stewart, brother-in-law PFC James Stephens, brother-in-law Chester Stephens and sister-in-law and her husband Julia (Elzie) Shepherd.
Visitation will be held at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, and will be officiated by Pastor Larry Carnes. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
