Obituary for Marilyn Ruth (McNaul) Baker

Marilyn Ruth Baker, 78, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. Born on October 11, 1946, to Dale and DeLee McNaul, Marilyn’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service.

Her deep faith guided her, and the Book of Psalms was a source of strength throughout her life. She served as President of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Council and volunteered with Hospice, embodying her values of compassion and grace.

A retired Vice President of Human Resources at Time Warner, Marilyn was admired for her strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication. In retirement, she pursued her love of travel and spiritual growth, embarking on meaningful journeys like a pilgrimage to Peru with the Dalai Lama, silent retreats, and adventures in Alaska with her sisters and mother, as well as Europe and beyond. Among her cherished memories was hosting the McNaul family for the 1996 Summer Olympics, the annual family trip to Cedar Point, and always up for a game of cards, a reflection of her love for family and hospitality.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Heather (Vince) Gangi; sisters, Marsha (Joseph) Marzetti and Marjorie (Kirby) Terakedis and; grandchildren, Aaron (Tracy), Josh (Kelly), and Kim; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janet (Ken) Steele; husband, Bob Baker; and grandson, Kyle.

Marilyn’s legacy of faith, kindness, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who love her. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bellville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in her honor.
