Marvin “The Butcher” Stapleton, 68, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away December 15, 2024 in Columbus Ohio at the Kobacker Hospice House following a brief illness. He was born on May 25, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Estelle Stapleton Sr. and Birdie Yates. On August 9, 1980 Marvin married Sharon Rose in Shelby, Ohio, and together they’ve shared 44 years of marriage.

Marvin was known as “The Butcher”. He has been processing meat since the age of 17 and retired from Kroger’s as the head meat cutter after 20 years of Service. Marvin enjoyed music, Harley Davidsons, playing golf with his special brother, animals, eating and watching John Wayne westerns. But most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marvin was always there to help out his children with any projects they may have had. Marvin always had a good time. He never met a stranger, and everyone he did meet became a friend.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Sharon (Rose) Stapleton of Mansfield; children, Jeremy Allen (Beth) Stapleton, Joshua Wayne (Shanna) Stapleton and Shannon Stapleton all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Jeremy Allen Jr., Jasper Nichole, Trevette Zachary, Nathaniel Austin, Jonas Daniel and Emma Kay; great-grandchildren, Mari`Anna Jeanette and Karlos King Wayne; 14 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Kobacker Hospice House and Riverside Methodist Hospital for the loving care they provided to Marvin and his family.
