MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Partners in Education Team, comprised of the Renaissance Performing Arts Association, the Mansfield Art Center, and Mansfield City Schools, will host a one-day professional development workshop on arts integration for educators and administrators on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Renaissance Theatre.

This workshop is ideal for primary, intermediate, and middle grades educators (most beneficial for those teaching students in grades K-8).

Teaching artist and National Board Certified Teacher Paige Whelan will lead the interactive session, Animation Challenges: Inspiring Collaboration and Problem-Solving.

The workshop is free for all participants thanks to the generous support of the Ohio Arts Council and Charles P. Hahn of Cleveland Financial.

Participants will learn how to engage students in problem-solving and collaboration through animation challenges.

Using simple tools like Google Slides, teachers will explore how students can create GIFs or digital flipbooks to demonstrate their understanding of various curriculum concepts, including science, social studies, reading, and math.

This innovative approach inspires creativity, encourages collaboration, and fosters a sense of community. Most importantly, it equips students with the confidence and critical thinking skills they need to solve problems independently and as a team.

The workshop will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Theatre. Registration is free and open to all area teachers and school administrators.

Attendees will also gain contact hours toward Continuing Education Credits (CEUs). For more information or to register, visit rentickets.org.
