PLYMOUTH — There’s something special about the holiday season in small cities and villages throughout Ohio.
Lights, carriage rides and live reindeer create an atmosphere much like a Hallmark movie.
Mix in ice skating, holiday treats, live music and a vendor market and you’ll be hard-pressed to not feel the Christmas spirit.
In its 10th year, Plymouth’s Christmas in the Village offered all the aforementioned elements, among many more, Friday and Saturday.
The two-day holiday festival opened in historic downtown Plymouth on Friday afternoon.
Day one highlights included the annual Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m. and a Christmas fireworks display at 9 p.m.
An abundance of holiday-inspired fun was featured both days, including a small business shopping market, food trucks, live music and entertainment, ice skating, rides, and a model train exhibit.

Christmas in the Village is planned by the Plymouth Improvement Committee. Village Roots and co-owner Katie Veletean are also part of the planning committee.
Through generous donations and sponsorships from local and area small businesses, all activities and attractions were free for attendees to enjoy, Veletean said.
A full list of the businesses who help fund the festival are included in the Facebook post below.
“We are so lucky to be a part of the planning committee for this event alongside the Plymouth Improvement Committee,” she said.
