LEXINGTON: Louise Traxler, age 84, of Lexington passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1939 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Alonzo and Rebecca (Allen) Ousley. Louise worked her whole life in the manufacturing industry, Essex Wire locally, and also as a bookkeeper for the Mansfield Firefighters Museum.
When she was able, Louise loved traveling, especially with her sister Avinello, playing non-profit bingo and trips to the riverboat casino. She was a hardcore sports fan, faithfully following the Cleveland Browns, Indians and OSU Buckeyes. Family was the single most important priority to Louise. Nothing delighted her more than cooking a huge spread for the holidays, which always included her sweet potatoes, banana pudding and homemade dressing. She cherished time together playing cards and enjoying good food.
Most of all, she will be remembered as the kindest soul, always putting others ahead of her own needs, and providing a shoulder to cry on or gentle words of acceptance and love. Simply stated she was the very best mother and best friend.
Louise is survived by four children Henry Britton, Kay (Dan) Campbell, Debra (Ed) Secrist, and Ricky Britton; son-in-law Lloyd Kiser; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren; siblings Albert (Janet) Ousley, and Shirl Francis, special nephew Dan (Eric) Ousley, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Juanita Kiser, two grandsons Melvin Kiser and Jason Terry, and many siblings.
Friends may call Monday, November 18, 2024 from 1-2 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery.
