MANSFIELD — The 228 Lexington Ave. restaurant wasn’t closed for long before new owners Alex Rios and Jose Camorano saw an opportunity.
The business partners celebrated the grand opening Casa Señor Gollo on Tuesday with a ribbon cutting.
“I saw this amazing place in an amazing community and wanted to take the chance,” Rios said. “We welcome all of Mansfield to come try our food.”
The name Casa Señor Gollo was inspired by Alex’s brother, Gregorio Rios, whose nickname is “Gollo.”
The location was previously Tacos & Margaritas, owned by the Berber family, who opened Gigi’s Tacos and Margaritas on Fourth Street in February.
Casa Señor Gollo serves a variety of dishes including tacos, burritos, chalupas and more. Rios said his favorite specials are the birria dishes.
“We want to bring bold, authentic Mexican dishes and share them with the family,” Rios said. “So far, we’ve received great feedback, and we want to bring things that everyone will like.”
