Barbara Kay Pursley, age 63 of Loudonville, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 29, 1961, in Crestline, and she married the love of her life, Billy E. Pursley, Jr., on April 19, 1984. They shared 41 beautiful years together.
Barbie spent most of her life as a homemaker and a caretaker, and her family meant more to her than anything in the world. Her grandbabies were her life. She was always invested in their sports and hobbies, and she was so proud of each and every one of them.
Family meals were important to her and so were the holidays, whether it be a Fourth of July cookout or a Thanksgiving dinner. She loved decorating for Christmas and getting everyone together, spending quality time and sharing laughter and good food.
She also enjoyed crocheting, a hobby she and her daughter enjoyed together every weekend. She was truly a master, able to crochet anything from a unicorn hat for her granddaughters to many blankets, animals, and beyond. She made a bear for every person she loved, and they will doubtless be treasured forever. She and her daughter used their talents to give back to the community through making scarves for various veterans, crocheting scarves all through the year and donating them to those in need when winter hit.
Above all else, Barbie was known for her infectious smile and positive outlook even in the face of the worst obstacles. She never let her cancer define her, and she even did her best to uplift the other patients when she went in for her chemotherapy treatments. She was the type of person who always strove to be better and encouraged others to do the same, and she did it all with a smile.
She loved with her whole heart, and she left a lasting impression on every single person whose path she ever crossed. She was a light that kept shining brighter and brighter, spreading love and acceptance everywhere she possibly could. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
Barbie is survived by her husband Billy Pursley, Jr.; her children Danielle (Jason) Rogers and Dustin (Hannah) Pursley; her grandchildren, her pride and joy, Klayton, Aaliyah, Gauge, Emma, Katrina, Emmerie, and Regan; her sisters Christy (Dennis) Shade and Becky Hughes; her sisters-in-law Debbie (Archie) Whited and Kelly (Willie) Mollett; her parents-in-law Charlotte and Roger Tupps; numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece Jolene Shade; and special family member and source of religious counsel, Pastor Mike Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Salvati and her nephew Denny Shade.
No services will be observed at this time.
