William Howard Pearce, 81 of Ashland passed away Tuesday evening, November 5, 2024 in his home following an extended illness.
He was born on January 18, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of the late William H. and Ann Elizabeth (nee O’Hara) Pearce.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Bill married the former Mary Ann Yencik ( Andress ) on November 25, 1977 who passed away from this life on June 13, 2004.
He remarried some years later, the former Delores Van Meter (Meininger) on June 20, 2009.
He retired after more than 12 years from Warner Trucking in 2009 and was employed as an over the road truck driver for more than 41 years. It was a career that he truly loved, it gave him the freedom to see so many things and meet so many people. He has traveled to every state with the exception of South Dakota. Although his favorite place to visit was Las Vegas.
Throughout the holiday season, Bill loved to decorate with Christmas Lights. He gave the Griswolds a run for their money, but most of all he adored his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mrs. Delores Pearce of Ashland; two daughters, Stephanie (Don) Kozak of Nankin, Karen (James) Taylor of Ashland and two stepchildren, Candy ( John) Beveridge of Butler and Ryan Meininger of Ashland; seven grandchildren, Justin Taylor of Nova, Janice (Kyle) Moore of Ashland, Shannon Beach of Sullivan, Emma (Chad) King of Dalton, Hayley (Rob) Paisley of Mansfield, Julie (Reuben Hostetler) Taylor of Wooster, Abbie (Jacob) Pondage of Sullivan and many step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, Avery and Taylor Esterline, Jameson and Hattie King, Grayson and Lincoln Paisley, Memphis Pondage and many step-great-grandchildren.
In keeping with his wishes no public services will be observed and the family will celebrate his life in a private family ceremony.
