Madeline Rae Tingley, a radiant soul whose warmth and joy lifted all who knew her, left us on Monday, November 4, 2024. To know Maddy was to be touched by her vibrant spirit, her boundless energy, and her joy in the simplest, most beautiful parts of life.
Born May 14, 1996, Maddy embodied a free spirit. She felt most alive in nature, whether taking in the peace of the outdoors, playing with her beloved dogs, or tending to her garden, which was always brimming with life. Her yard flourished with flowers and vegetables she nurtured with love, and her famous spicy pickles were shared with friends and family each season, a true reflection of her generous heart.
Maddy was a friend to everyone she met, effortlessly bringing people together with her open-hearted nature. She chased adventure with a fearless joy—whether braving the roller coasters at Cedar Point, finding solace by the ocean, or shredding down snowy slopes. A racing enthusiast, Maddy loved the thrill of watching NASCAR and cheering on her favorite drivers, a passion she shared eagerly with friends and family.
To those who knew her, Maddy was a light, a friend, and a confidante, someone who made others feel truly seen and valued. She ended every conversation with a heartfelt “love ya,” a gesture that reflected her genuine, unwavering affection. Her warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother Renee (Bruce) Caugherty; father John (Jill) Tingley; sister Brittany (Chris) Barnes; grandparents Ken & Sheila Eichhorn, Gail Sheehe, and grandmother Pauline Tingley; aunts Tammy Shook, Heather (John) Harbeck, and Julie Rhodes; uncles Tony (Jill) Gruber and David (Michelle) Tingley; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.
Maddy was preceded in death by her grandfather David Tingley, who will now share in her memory.
In honor of Maddy’s compassionate spirit, contributions may be made to the Richland County Dog Warden & Adoption Center, reflecting her love for animals.
Though there will be no formal services, Maddy’s family invites you to carry her spirit forward—celebrating the outdoors, embracing new adventures, and offering others the kindness and openness that made her so special.
