Richard E. Pancoast

Submitted by William Pancoast

Branch of service: Army 1st Lieutenant

My father, Richard E. Pancoast, Army 110th Infantry WWII, hit the home shores full speed ahead in 1946, ready to enjoy the peace he and all the WWII Veterans had won. He, like many of his fellow vets, had baggage from where they had been and what they had seen in ridding the world of Fascism. They overcame, survived the Hurtgen Forest and Battle of the Bulge, and chose what had occupied their minds and kept them alive in combat-the freedom to earn a living and raise a family in peace. I salute my father and all who served our country.
