MANSFIELD — The 20th episode of the News Man Weekly podcast has dropped.
In this week’s edition, Richland Source City Editor Carl Hunnell announces plans for the news website’s Election Night livestream extravaganza, “Democracy After Dark.”
The two-hour event Tuesday night will be co hosted by Hunnell and Ashland Source reporter Mariah Thomas from 8 to 10 p.m., joined by special guests all night long from inside and outside the newsroom.
Local residents are invited to join in on the Richland Source Facebook page and/or our YouTube channel.
You are invited to interact with the show by commenting or asking questions and helping us celebrate the end of a long presidential election campaign.
“All of the news networks will be covering the election returns live as they come in. And so will we,” Hunnell said.
“We’re just going to do it differently. Scratch that. A lot differently,” he said.
“No suits and ties. No arguing pundits from the left and right. No endless map zooming. And no excessive predictions about what it all means,” the city editor said.
Also on today’s podcast, Hunnell is joined by Richland Source education reporter Katie Ellington Serrao for a discussion about the Mansfield City Schools tax levy on Tuesday’s ballot with levy committee co-chairs Teana Sykes and Dawn Kitchen.
Hunnell and podcast Executive Producer Zac Hiser also riff about the City of Mansfield’s renewed efforts to demolish the West Park Shopping Center along Park Avenue West, a quest that’s been ongoing for two years.
