MANSFIELD — A 28-year-old man died after crashing into a vehicle while riding his skateboard Friday night in downtown Mansfield.
Douglas “Mitch” Miller, of Mansfield, was traveling north on Walnut Street when he entered the intersection of Walnut and Fifth streets at approximately 9:20 p.m., according to a report from the Mansfield Police Department.
The report stated Miller ran a stop sign, failed to yield to westbound traffic along West Fifth Street, and collided with a 2014 Jeep Patriot driven by 19-year-old Avery Elijah Brown of Mansfield.
Miller was transported by EMS to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Brown and his passenger, 18-year-old Xylasia Lee, were unharmed in the crash.
