Cory Maffett, age 34, of Albertville AL, born & raised in Mansfield Ohio passed away October 8, 2024, surrounded by his family at The University of Birmingham Hospital after a short courageous battle with a rare form of Sarcoma(EHE).

Cory attended Lexington & Madison schools, graduating from Madison in 2008. He received his Multi-Craft Maintenance Apprenticeship from Northeast Alabama Community College. He was proud owner of his business, Jr’s Mechanical, LLC, which allowed him the opportunity to travel the US with Raven and Charlie. Cory had a passion for visiting nice restaurants, traveling in his leisure, and making memories with his family. He loved working hard to provide for them. He also enjoyed playing baseball, soccer & softball. He was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.

Cory is survived by his loving wife, Raven Maffett; parents, Russ (Vicky Buckley) Maffett and Cindy (Doug) Hummel; grandmother, Fran Matthews; stepdaughter, Madison (Javie) Holmes; stepson, Jalen Cook; brother, Darien (Kourtnee) Hummel; sister, Devin (Jeff) Nelson; aunts and uncles, Brenda (Steve) Nadler, Teresa (Jeff) Thomas, Frank (Melanie) Matthews, Ray (Sandra) Maffett, Rick (Kathy) Maffett, Ron (Jacqueline) Maffett, Daryl (Terri) Hummel, Sue Donahue, Connie (Otto) Swogger, Greg (Stephanie) Hummel; sister-in-laws, Michele (Michael) Varnell and LaShae (Megan) Timmerman-Kildahl; father-in-law, Rusty (Joyce) Timmerman; grandchildren, Illabei and Leilani Morrison; step-grandchildren, Vincent, Kairi, Blythe, and Vexyn Holmes; nieces, Evie, Poppy, Leland, and Lillian; nephew, Waylen; numerous cousins; and his fur baby, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond (Beverly) Maffett and Haven (Beverly) Hummel; mother-in-law, Jill Goble; aunt Sheila Hummel and uncles Larry Donahue and Eric Hummel.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew & loved him.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Core Community Church, Shelby, OH, with a dinner following. All are invited to attend and share memories of Cory.
