Eloise Anne Paxton passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 12th at Lexington Court. Born February 13th, 1936, Mansfield General Hospital, to the late Skiles and Mary Ethel Paxton from Bellville. She was a retired Mansfield City school teacher.
Graduating in 1954 from Bellville H.S.; she was a straight A student, Homecoming Queen in 1953, also honored and elected to Girls State same year.
After school she did a brief stint of modeling for Reeds Department Store; she maintained a lifelong interest in fashion, and was already an accomplished seamstress as a teenager. First job was at Bellville Farmer’s Bank where she worked until completing two years of college at Ashland University, then began her true calling as an elementary teacher. She taught at Prospect, later West Fifth, and then for years at Stadium, retiring in 1998 with a MS degree, also from Ashland University.
She attended the Bellville Methodist Church until its closing 2008. She had been the pianist/organist there for years.
She was a lifelong Bellville resident, but worldwide traveler; Jamaica, Mexico, Europe, Canada, and the US.
She had many special friends in the Mansfield/Bellville area that would include Leslie Lancy, Jane Kurdzel, Ruthie Shinabarker, Marjorie Snelson, Sharon Hollar, and special high school friend, Marilyn Bowers/Clark, New Jersey.
Nieces and nephews are Jeff Haag, Tim Haag, Gwen Haag, Erik Paxton, Whitney Paxton, and Trent Paxton. Very special nieces, Destiny and Kya Paxton.
Preceded in death by Parents, sister, Elaine Haag, brother Dean; surviving brother is Lee Paxton, surviving brother in law, Werner Haag.
